world with no religion

People so much emphasis on religion rather than God. The world would be a better place if everyone obey God, live by his standards and principle.
Psalm 37:9-11
9 For evil men will be done away with,
But those hoping in Jehovah will possess the earth.
10 Just a little while longer, and the wicked will be no more;
You will look at where they were,
And they will not be there.
11 But the meek will possess the earth,
And they will find exquisite delight in the abundance of peace.
Psalm 37:29
29 The righteous will possess the earth,
And they will live forever on it.

Isaiah 65:21-23
21 They will build houses and live in them,
And they will plant vineyards and eat their fruitage.
22 They will not build for someone else to inhabit,
Nor will they plant for others to eat.
For the days of my people will be like the days of a tree,
And the work of their hands my chosen ones will enjoy to the full.
23 They will not toil* for nothing,*
Nor will they bear children for distress,
Because they are the offspring* made up of those blessed by Jehovah,
And their descendants with them.

They created religion to keep people in line. It for sure backfired on them. However some people actually use it as a sign of faith. They use it as a way to get through their daily lives with purpose. I do believe the world would be a better place in some aspects. There wouldnt necessarily be blame on specific cultures based on their "beliefs " that some extremist twist around and make. . Some people take their religion and twist it into their own narrow minded ways and claim that's what their higher power wanted. And anything that doesn't follow those specific mindsets and standards is wrong and is going to be punished or should be ostracized because they are something that the other pepole can't control or handle. There wouldnt be hatred between people based on their beliefs of a higher power and so on. Government wouldn't be able to use culture and religion as a scapegoat for the dull minded to pick on in order to keep the attention off the real matters .

It's wrong to judge good things only by their shortcomings and the bad use people make of them. In this case everything and above all us humans is a monster. You can equally consider how much better the world would be if there were no UK (or many other European countries like France etc) because their imperialist ambitions lead to colonialism, their ideologies lead to two World Wars and all the disasters that followed, If there were no philosophy and no one thought about economy or society no one would have come to the ideas of fascism or communism. Religions seem only to do harm at the moment. But when they appeared and during many centuries they were giving people hope and moral compass (in a world with no human rights, democracy, charity etc), there are a lot of places in Bible and in Koran that teach people to be kind to each other, help the poor and the weak, strive for perfection, be humble, act as if someone is watching you, watch you thoughts and your tongue... The spirit of these religions (especially of Christianity) is a base for many beautiful ideas and institutions we have now. If there were no religion (in a sense of modern monotheistic religions) the world would probably still be a Rome with inequality, slavery and murders for fun. Even if you don't believe in God you can still regard Christianity (or Islam, or Buddhism) as outstanding pieces of philosophy extremely progressive at the moment when they appeared. Terrorism is not a religion, it's a way to scare people in obedience, to make them accept your political stance (Islamists are far from being the first, separatists used it ex. IRA, extremists of different ideologies...). Crusade is basically a motto to conquer a territory very much similar to what we were and are doing when fighting ISIS right now and liberating Palmyra: we are saving something holy (in this case because old) from people whose way of governing and thinking the world we don't like.

True many bad things are done in the name of religion. Religion does seem to be at the root of so many problems. The fault lies however not with religion but with false religion. Satan the devil who is the god of this world has built up a world empire of false religion, identified by rage, hatred, bloodshed, immorality, violence. Jesus indicated that false religion would produce bad works just as a rotten tree produce worthless fruit,(read Matthew 7:15-17). Jesus also states at Matthew 7:21-23 "not every professing to serve him will be accepted or approved but the one doing the will of his Father. When Jesus was on earth he showed what worship is acceptable to his Father, worshipers of the true God would make his Fathers name known, not be involved in war, not get involved in politics, not commit murder, not practice immorality, have outstanding love for one another. Would you not agree if everyone practiced true religion there would be no crusades, no 9-11, no killing for any reason? The good news is very soon God will get rid of all false religion and all those who persist in practicing wickedness. He will usher in a new world where only righteousness will dwell. I think it'd be a pretty depressing world. I can't say for sure whether it'll be better or not, but no matter how much you talk about religion being the root of all evil and whatnot, you have to admit that it has saved so many people's lives. People who are depressed, who have no direction. People who are in need and benefit from donations that come from religions, or people who are inspired by their religion to help and care for others. To call religion evil is preposterous to me, and sorry if that's the only thing you can derive from religion, I think you're pretty narrow minded and ignorant. I'm not saying evil things have come from religion. I'm just saying that there are two sides to every coin, so please educate yourself before commenting on anything.

The evil caused under the name of religion is not caused by religion. Just like the good in the world under the name of religion isn't either. Its just good people and crazy people.

Historically, the evils done because of "religion" were really entirely political. Those wars would have still happened. The crusades were territorial, and most of the motivation was really just for unification of Europe for a common enemy.

The same goes for the goodness in my opinion. Hospitals opened in the names of saints would have still been opened because the people responsible are good and don't need religion as an excuse.

Religion often serves as a way for people to foster their motivations, whatever the intentions may bee, no I see it as neutral. It's wrong to blame religion, the individuals are responsible for their actions.
